Source Protection Committee
What is a Source Protection Committee?
Every source protection area/region in Ontario has a Source Protection Committee. This is a requirement of the Clean Water Act. The Quinte Source Protection Committee is responsible for monitoring the methods related to the gathering of source protection information, assessing threats, developing policies and supporting implementation of the Quinte Region Source Protection Plan.
Quinte Source Protection Committee
The Quinte Source Protection Committee is made up of 18 members, plus the chair. There are four municipal representatives, four economic sector representatives, including agriculture, commerce, and industry, four other representatives including the general public, environmental, etc., and two First Nations representatives. The remaining three seats are non-voting positions reserved for the following partners: The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks; The Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health; and the Quinte Source Protection Authority (Quinte Conservation).

The Notice of Decision was posted as per the requirements of Ontario Regulation 288/07 to explain the formation of a Source Protection Committee for the Quinte Source Protection Area.
