QUINTE CONSERVATION’S WILD ABOUT WILDLIFE DAYS ARE COMING THIS JULY!
Quinte Conservation’s education staff will be holding a Wild about Wildlife day from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm on:
Thursday, July 5th at the Tweed Park, Tweed
Friday, July 6th at Potter’s Creek Conservation Area, Belleville
Saturday, July 7th at Beaver Lake Park, Erinsville
Conservation Education Coordinator, Maya Navrot, says, “We are expecting a great turn out for this year’s Wild about
Wildlife days. These events are great opportunities for families to get outdoors and learn about their natural
surroundings, explore their environment, and learn about fascinating creatures through hands-on interactive
activities. Each day is jam packed with a variety of activities so that each child can learn and experience many
different things.”
Activities Include:
Make a paper pot and bring home a wildflower for bees and butterflies
Meet live falcons and learn about raptors
Learn about water bugs and meet some creek critters
Learn about your watershed with our watersheds model
Examine natural items at the nature discovery table
Create art in nature
Live interactive Ontario Reptiles At-Risk display
Paddling Puppeteer show starts at 11:30 am (Tweed and Belleville)
ADMISSION: Free - Donations towards Quinte Conservation’s educational programs accepted.
In order for your child to participate in a Wild about Wildlife Day they must be accompanied by an adult. Maya
Navrot, adds, “We hope you have the opportunity to come out to this free, and fun educational day. Don’t miss your
chance to get wild about wildlife with Quinte Conservation.”
Parking for the Belleville event will be available on the south side of Old Hwy 2 at Potter’s Creek Conservation Area.
