QUINTE CONSERVATION UPDATES ITS RESPONSE TO COVID-19
In an ongoing effort to respond to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Quinte Conservation has adjusted organizational practices and procedures and continues to follow the lead of local, provincial, and federal health authorities.
In order to abide by government recommendations during this time and to reduce the risk of community transmission, Quinte Conservation is making the following changes to its operations:
The Quinte Conservation office will remain closed to the public until further notice;
Staff who can complete their duties remotely will work from home;
Flood forecasting staff will continue to monitor flows and will notify the public and municipalities if conditions change;
Staff who are working from the office will continue to practice physical distancing and maintain enhanced cleaning and sanitization procedures;
All scheduled events and in-person meetings have been cancelled;
Staff can all be reached by email or phone. A staff directory is available at QuinteConservation.ca. If you are unsure of which department to contact, please email info@quinteconservation.ca or call 613-968-3434;
Staff will continue to respond to inquiries; however, there may be a delay in response time;
Documents can still be dropped off via the mail slot at the main office or by mail at 2061 Old Hwy 2. Belleville ON, K8N 4Z2.
Quinte Conservation’s areas remain open for passive recreational use. Pets must be leashed at all times. Parking will remain free until April 30, 2020. Visitors are advised to practice physical distancing as well as the other protocols that have been recommended by health authorities. All washroom facilities have been removed or closed and picnic shelters have been taped off. Visitors can expect reduced maintenance to these areas at this time. In addition, visitors are reminded that there is no garbage pickup at any of Quinte Conservation’s areas.
This message will be in effect until (or updated before) April 17, 2020.
