QUINTE CONSERVATION STARTS 2025 WITH A NEW CHAIR

Quinte Conservation (QC) has appointed City of Quinte West Councillor Don Kuntze as Chair of the Executive Board during the first Executive Board Meeting of 2025 on February 20. Councillor Kuntze will serve a two-year term, leading the board through 2025 and 2026.

Additionally, City of Belleville Councillor Chris Malette was re-elected as Vice Chair during the meeting. Councillor Malette previously served as Chair of the Board from 2023 to 2024.

“Since joining Quinte Conservation by appointment from Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison in 2018, I have come to learn that the staff, management team and fellow Board members are all incredibly dedicated to our waterways and lands where we live,” says Kuntze.

“With Chris Malette at my side, I hope to continue to educate the public about water and nature, keep Quinte Conservation team members motivated, and will keep talking with the Provincial Government to hear our message that they work with us on protecting water and nature. If we can do that, then our citizens will benefit.”

During the meeting, select staff members reached significant milestones and were recognized for their years of service and contributions to QC:

  • Tammy Smith – 35 years
  • Christine Campbell – 10 years
  • Lindsay Nash – 5 years
  • Michael Burtt – 5 years
  • Pat Moran – 5 years

“We are incredibly grateful for the commitment and hard work of our staff,” said Brad McNevin, Chief Administrative Officer of Quinte Conservation. “Their dedication is instrumental in advancing our mission toward a vision of a strong and sustainable ecosystem.”
