QUINTE CONSERVATION ISSUES A WATERSHED CONDITIONS STATEMENT – WATER SAFETY STATEMENT

Isolated, severe thunder showers are a possibility over the next two days in the wake of Hurricane Beryl. Based on forecasted amounts of 30 to 40mm of rainfall across the Quinte watershed, widespread flooding and drainage issues are not anticipated.

The public is advised to exercise caution when near rivers and waterbodies and to stay away from open and fast flowing water, culverts, dams, and unstable banks. Quinte Conservation recommends securing loose items, docks, and boats to the shoreline or removing them during these types of events.

Quinte Conservation will continue to monitor watershed conditions and provide updates as necessary. Should you have any questions or wish to report flooding, please visit quinteconservation.ca or call 613-968-3434.

A WATER SAFETY STATEMENT indicates that high flows, unsafe banks, melting ice or other factors could be dangerous for users such as anglers, boaters, swimmers, children, or pets. Flooding is not expected.

This statement will be in effect until (or updated before) Friday, July 12, 2024.
