MINISTRY APPROVES AMENDMENTS TO THE QUINTE REGION SOURCE PROTECTION PLAN FOR AREAS OF MADOC, BELLEVILLE, AND PICTON
The Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks approved amendments to the Quinte Region Source Protection Plan, Assessment Report and Explanatory Document in September 2019. The amendment includes:

QUINTE CONSERVATION DECLARES LEVEL 2 LOW WATER CONDITION FOR THE MOIRA, NAPANEE, AND SALMON WATERSHEDS
Quinte Conservation and the Low Water Response Team have declared a Level 2 Low Water Condition in the Moira, Napanee, and Salmon River Watersheds due to lack of rainfall and low flows throughout the region. Prince Edward Region Watershed remains in a Level 1 Low Water Condition.

QUINTE CONSERVATION UNDERTAKES TREE THINNING PROJECT AT VANDERWATER CONSERVATION AREA
Quinte Conservation will be thinning and harvesting trees from Vanderwater Conservation Area near Tweed this fall. The property was purchased many years ago and planted with Red Pine to rehabilitate abandoned agriculture land that was at risk of erosion. Vanderwater Conservation Area continues to be a demonstration site for environmentally sustainable forestry practices.

QUINTE CONSERVATION DOWNGRADES FLOOD WARNING STATUS FOR LAKE ONTARIO AND THE BAY OF QUINTE TO FLOOD WATCH
