Founded in 2012, the Quinte Conservation Foundation (QCF) is a registered environmental charitable organization with a mission to address the financial challenges associated with protecting and conserving the lands and waters of the Moira, Napanee, and Salmon Rivers, and Prince Edward County.

This year marks a significant step forward for QCF as we open applications for volunteer membership to its Board of Directors.

The Quinte Conservation Foundation Board of Directors provide strategic leadership and governance, and oversee the operational and financial performance of the QCF. Members of the Board bear a fiduciary duty to QCF, its mission and its supporters.

The Quinte Conservation Foundation is currently seeking applications for volunteer membership on our Board of Directors. We are looking for individuals whose skills, passion and experience align with the QCF’s mission, guiding principles, and strategic priorities.

 

Roles and Responsibilities
The QCF Board of Directors will provide strategic leadership, governance and oversee the operational and financial performance of the Foundation. Members of the Board bear a fiduciary duty to QCF, its mission and its supporters. Board Members will have the option to serve on standing/ad hoc committees such as Finance, Governance and Membership. In pursuing their duties of care, diligence and loyalty, members are expected to come prepared for meetings, ask questions, actively participate in events and fundraising. As a registered charitable organization located in Ontario, Canada we require that all QCF board members be Canadian citizens.
Major Responsibilities
  • Fulfill governance and stewardship role to ensure the long-term success of the organization
  • Promote the organization and its mission in the community at large and build new supporters
  • Engage with key stakeholders including funders, partners, donors and supporters
  • Adhere to the bylaws, policies and purposes of the QCF as set out in the articles of incorporation
  • Help the Board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities including approval and oversight of the annual budget
  • Ensure that the resources entrusted to the Foundation further the goals of the Quinte Conservation Authority
  • Attend quarterly Board meetings in Belleville, ON, normally held during working hours
  • Attend Annual General Meeting
  • Able to commit the time and resources to serve on the Board
  • Represent QCF in the community
  • Have the ability to serve for a minimum of three (3) years and eligible for re-election at the annual general meeting
Expected Commitment
  • Attend quarterly Board meetings in Belleville, ON, normally held during working hours
  • Attend Annual General Meeting
  • Able to commit the time and resources to serve on the Board
  • Represent the QCF in the community
  • Have the ability to serve for a minimum of three (3) years and eligible for re-election at the Annual General Meeting
