About
Depot Lakes Conservation Area and Campground is nestled in the heart of the Land o’ Lakes tourist region, just north of the village of Verona. Launch your boat at any one of the lakes, and take advantage of some of the best fishing in Eastern Ontario.
This is our only Conservation Area that offers camping, featuring 54 seasonal sites, many of them waterfront, as well as 20 interior sites along the shoreline and on a few of the tiny islands of Second Depot Lake.
There are approximately 9 km of hiking trails that traverse through the Canadian Shield. Hikers should be aware that the terrain is rugged and appropriate footwear is required. Out on the trail, you may see deer, moose, black bears, a variety of bird species, and many other small creatures. The hiking trails begin on the west side of the Seasonal Campground area, about 1 km from the main gate.
Exploring Depot Lakes Campground
Whether you plan on visiting for the day, the weekend, or for the summer, there are somethings you need to consider before visiting.
- All of our interior sites are boat in only. You will need to bring your own boat with you.
- Seasonal campsites do not include hydro or water and sewage hook up.
- Depot Lakes Conservation Area and Campground is subject to any and all fire bans that are declared by the municipality of Central Frontenac. We will post fire ban alerts to this website, but encourage all visitors to check with the municipality online before visiting.
- Be aware that ticks are active during the summer season. Ticks are small invertebrates that feed on animal and human blood and can transmit Lyme disease. Ensure your safety from ticks.
- You may encounter many different types of wildlife at Depot Lakes. It is important to review bear wise information before your visit.
- Poison ivy is common throughout the area. If touched, this plant may cause skin reactions. Know how to identify Poison Ivy before you visit.
There is an electronic parking gate onsite. Parking is $7 per day, per vehicle or $14 per 3 days, per vehicle. Annual passes are also available.

Trails are closed every year from mid-October to mid-November as neighbouring properties allow hunting activities. We remind visitors that hunting is not permitted on campsites or trails.
