Duties:
- Make a commitment of at least 6 visits per year
- Prune back overhanging limbs, clear branches and debris from trails. (*specific guidance will be given when volunteers enroll in the program)
- Post/replace signs and trail markers as needed
- Remove litter
- Immediately report inappropriate uses to the main Quine Conservation office at 613-968-3434. Report any issues that should be addressed immediately. (i.e. illegal hunting, safety concerns, vandalism, etc.)
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to safely use hand tools such as trail shears and pruning saws
- Must have own transportation
- Must be in good physical shape to hike trails
- Ability to read maps
- Some natural history experience helpful, but not required
- Engage with public in a friendly manner and be enthusiastic and respectful toward nature and people
Requirements:
Volunteers must have their own work boots, work gloves, and eye safety wear. Volunteers must follow QC health and safety guidelines outlined in the training session. All volunteers must sign a contract after orientation with a QC staff member.

How to get started:
- Complete the Volunteer Information Form online
- The Stewardship Coordinator will contact you to discuss duties and choose trails that need to be kept and monitored.
- The Stewardship Coordinator will meet with you for an orientation and to give you CA trail maps and other necessary items. A contract will need signing. This contract outlines duties, responsibilities, and health and safety guidelines that volunteers will need to follow.
