UPDATE #2 FOR FLOOD WATCH ON LAKE ONTARIO AND THE BAY OF QUINTE
Lake Ontario water levels have been gradually rising over the last few weeks. Forecasted rain tonight and early next week will contribute to a change towards more rapidly rising water levels.
As of May 8, 2019, Lake Ontario was recorded at 55 cm above average for this time of year, which is 21 cm below the recorded level for May 8, 2017. This amount is 33 cm below the peak recorded on May 25, 2017.

QUINTE CONSERVATION REMOVES FLOOD WATCH FOR RIVERS THROUGHOUT WATERSHED
Major river systems and tributaries including the Moira, Salmon, and Napanee Rivers have continued to decline since reaching their spring peaks at the end of April.
There is no risk of flooding at this time.
Staff will continue to monitor conditions and will provide an update if forecasts and conditions change. For current water levels or to report any observations of flooding, residents are encouraged...

UPDATE #1 FOR FLOOD WATCH ON LAKE ONTARIO AND THE BAY OF QUINTE
Lake Ontario is expected to rise at least 14 cm throughout the upcoming week. Water levels will continue to rise before peaking in late May or early June.
As of May 2, 2019, Lake Ontario was recorded at 47 cm above average for this time of year, which is 13 cm below the recorded level for May 2, 2017. This amount is 43 cm below the peak in 2017.

QUINTE CONSERVATION DOWNGRADES MOIRA, SALMON, AND NAPANEE RIVER WATERSHEDS TO FLOOD WATCH
The Quinte Conservation Watershed received approximately 20 mm of rain on Friday, April 26, which was lower than forecasted. This amount of precipitation did not increase water levels on the Moira River. The Salmon and Napanee Rivers responded to the rainfall and water levels have since peaked.

QUINTE CONSERVATION ISSUES A FLOOD WATCH FOR THE BAY OF QUINTE AND LAKE ONTARIO
Yesterday, Lake Ontario’s water levels were 38 cm above average for this time of year.
There is a 50 per cent chance that water levels will rise another 15 cm, or greater, throughout the next week.
Inflow from Lake Erie, local inflow, and downstream flooding are contributing to the rise in Lake Ontario water levels.
