Come and find out about the short eared owl - an owl that doesn't give a hoot!

The Short-eared Owl is a magnificent bird of prey that can be found on Amherst, Wolfe and Howe Islands. It was once one of the most commonly seen owls in southern Ontario, but  breeding Bird Survey data suggest that its numbers have declined by up to 85% since 1966. Come learn more about this species of Special Concern, and current studies that are investigating the reasons for its decline.
