July 13, 2016 - Fire Notice for Depot Lakes

campfire

Lack of rainfall means dry conditions at Depot Lakes Conservation Area and Campground.  Quinte Conservation has issued a fire notice at this area for safety reasons.

We are asking campers to use common sense when having a campfire. Keep the fire small and in the designated fire pits. Keep a full bucket of water by the fire at all times. Make sure you soak the surrounding area with water before starting a fire. Make sure to drown the fire/coals when done with the fire.

If we do not get any rain in the coming days we may issue a Fire Ban at Depot Lakes Conservation Area and Campground. Campers are allowed to use propane campfires and stoves during times of a Fire Ban.

Fires are never allowed at the other conservation areas in the Quinte watersheds.

If you are scheduled to camp at Depot Lakes in the coming days, be prepared to do so without a campfire.
